Ready Affairs grew from a recurring practical problem: when a family is under pressure, essential information is often scattered, difficult to find, or held in one person’s head. Through the work that began with After the Loss, Aurora saw how much additional stress families face when they must search for documents, contacts, account information, medical details, and personal instructions at the same time they are already dealing with a difficult event.

Ready Affairs was created to move more of that work before the crisis. The same principle now extends into Aurora’s writing: family systems become more resilient when responsibilities are visible, information is easier to locate, ownership is clearer, backup exists, and one person is no longer expected to remember and manage everything.

The goal is not to care less. It is to build a family system that does not require one person to disappear inside the role of caring for everyone else.
